Class 8: Writing Reports

Class 8: Writing Reports

A report is usually written for someone in authority to inform them of something important that has happened or to give them a summary of what has taken place within a period of time in your department/club/etc. The format is as follows:

TITLE (eg. Vandalism)

The first paragraph should provide a summary of the report. Make sure you include details such as what happened, when it took place, who were involved and where it occured.

The second paragraph should provide the details, such as how it happened and the reasons why it occurred, if you know them. Remember to be objective and not include your own opinions. Report only what you witnessed, not what you feel.

The last paragraph should conclude the report. Inform your headmaster/boss/etc what actions are being taken with regards to the above matter and if there are any plans for the future.
