Student Essay - Kidnapped – by Gyu Han, Year 8, Sri Utama International School

Kidnapped – by Yoo Gyu Han, Year 8, Sri Utama International School

It gives me the chills thinking about last week. I was going home after a party. It was my best friend’s party so all our friends were there. There were all sorts of food. We had pizza, french fries, roast chicken and desert. When everybody stopped eating, we started to play. There were board games, electronic games and other sorts of games. Unfortunately, I had promised my mum to be home before eight o’clock that night. When I was walking down the street, I heard footsteps behind me.

I began to run. I ran as fast as a could. The footsteps were also getting faster. I didn’t see a rock in my way and I fell down. I got up quickly and when I was about to start running again, a big and strong arm grabbed me. I protested and screamed for help, “Help! Help! He ... “ When I was screaming for help the third time, I felt a searing pain on my head. After I fainted, I was carried by a big man. When I woke up, I could see nothing except a small light from a small window. I quickly searched my body and found a handphone in my pocket. I dialed a number and asked for help. Suddenly, the door flew open and the man took me to a car. We drove for what seemed like ages.

When we arrived, I realised that we had reached the airport! I would never see my family again! I was desperate. I quickly ran away from him. He came after me. I hid in the toilet. The men couldn’t find me. I went to a security guard and told him that there was a kidnapper in the airport. The guards spread out to find him. After a while, my family and friends came. I was so happy to see them all. The guards and policemen caught the kidnapper and sent him to prison.

The other children that were kidnapped by him were found and released. I was rewarded by the police for my help and bravery. My mother scolded me for a while for my carelessness and then hugged me. I saw my sister crying. I was very happy to be safe.

I promised myself I would never make my mother worry about me again. I would be home by seven o’clock every day. I would also pay more attention to what was happening around me.
